Educational Objectives
Dalton Beauty College is dedicated to educating quality cosmetologists, manicurists, and cosmetology instructors... graduates who are able to meet both the present and future demands of the beauty industry. Each student admitted to the College receives not only individualized instruction and exposure to technical skills and equipment, but also adequate opportunity for supervised work with the public. Each program offered by the College is designed to provide a sound educational basis to maximize the employability of its graduates. Specifically, the objectives of all our instructional programs are as follows:

To build a solid foundation of education and technical skills
To provide exposure to the role of the professional cosmetologists, including opportunities for supervised practical “hands-on” work.
To offer students an opportunity for exposure to modern product and styling techniques.
To fulfill all Georgia State Board of Cosmetology requirements.

Admission Requirements
All students under consideration for admission to the College must be either a high school graduate or have an equivalent thereof (GED) and be beyond the age of compulsory school attendance (16 years of age).

Nondiscrimination
Dalton Beauty College, in its admission, instruction, and graduation policies, does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion, handicap, creed, color, national origin, ethnic origin, age, marital status and military status.

Facilities
Dalton Beauty College far exceeds the minimum space requirements as set forth by the governing rules of the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology. The facility consists of a reception area, clinic floor, offices, classrooms, dispensary, and break room.

The clinic area consists of working stations where the student works on customers under the direct supervision of an instructor. The theory classrooms consist of visual aids such as charts, video library, and chalkboard to aid students in learning the theory of cosmetology.

In an effort to maintain a quality training program, the school is constantly improving and updating its facilities to meet the criteria of a modern up-to-date cosmetology school.

Enrollment Dates & Holidays
Students are accepted for enrollment on the third Wednesday of each month. The College recognizes New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day as legal holidays and are not required to be made up by the student. The school is open as scheduled unless, snow or icy road conditions make driving hazardous or impossible. If the school is closed due to inclement weather conditions, all local radio stations will be advised.

Transfer Students
Dalton Beauty College will accept hours obtained from other cosmetology schools. Acceptance of any transfer hours will be at the discretion of the College. Upon successful completion of a practical review, the College will issue a credit against the student's tuition charge when the notarized transfer hours are received in the Director's office. The College will honor transfer student kits on an individual basis. Transfer students will be required to have their kits assessed by a College representative prior to enrollment and if additional supplies are deemed necessary, transfer students will be charged for only the additional items needed. Students will be given credit for previous training as it applies to the course. A student can transfer hours earned in the Nail Technology Program to the Cosmetology program. Hours earned in the Cosmetology Program or the Instructor Program are not transferable to another Dalton Beauty College program.

Employment Assistance
The College is committed to assisting in the placement of every graduate student seeking employment, not only upon graduation, but also during their entire career in the beauty industry. We cannot and will not, guarantee you a job, but we are always willing to assist you in placement. Employment opportunities are placed on the bulletin board on a consistent basis.

Student Services / Counseling
All Dalton Beauty College students are offered academic, attendance, and personal counseling that might effect their completion of the course. Dalton Beauty College also maintains a drug counseling program including outside counselors that periodically come to the school and make our students aware of the dangers associated with drug abuse. The City of Dalton Police Department has a DARE program and trained officers hold classes for our students on an annual basis.

Lockers
Lockers are provided free of charge to students for their personal belongings. The College does charge a fee for lost keys or locks.

Student Parking
Ample parking is provided free of charge to our students in the designated area. Students are asked to park at the back of the parking facility to allow the closer spaces to remain open for our customers.
